Parts and supplies
Confirm the replacement part and the source's complete supply list for your exact model and Wi-Fi or cellular variant before starting.
Display adhesive is normally replaced after opening. Follow the source's requirements for screws, tape, foam and calibration.
Before you begin
Confirm the model in Settings → General → About and match the screen size and Wi-Fi or cellular version. A similar-looking iPad can have different cables, screws and replacement parts.
Identify your iPad with AppleBattery and glass precautions
Back up your data and disconnect all accessories. Follow the selected source's discharge and power-isolation instructions before opening. A swollen, dented, punctured or unusually hot battery needs specialist handling; do not heat, bend or pry it. Protect your eyes from broken glass. Power down before adjusting an internal connection.
Repair sequence
The M2 Air uses a modular USB-C assembly. Use the exact-size illustrated display procedure for access. Record the original port screws, grounds and cable routing before removal; cellular and Wi-Fi layouts differ.
Check charging and identify the variant
Confirm iPad Air 11-inch (M2), 2024, and Wi-Fi or cellular configuration. Test a known-good charger and cable. Inspect the USB-C tongue for damage with the iPad off. Do not replace the port solely because a liquid warning appears.
Remove the display safely
Use the exact-size illustrated source below, including its battery-isolation precautions. Keep the fragile laminated panel supported and protected. Do not substitute another size’s cutter path or force a blocker under the battery contacts.
Suction handle instructionsRepair photo 1 of 4 · iPad Air 6 11" Document and expose the port
Photograph the lower cable routing, port bracket and each screw position. Release the bracket and carefully free any overlying speaker, Smart Connector or cellular antenna cables from the port flex path. Open a locking connector before withdrawing its cable.
Remove the modular assembly
Lift the USB-C flex connector straight from its socket with a nylon tool. Remove the port’s mounting screws, release the flex adhesive gradually and lift the connector from its enclosure opening. Preserve the grounding and gasket arrangement.
Install the correct replacement
Compare the iPad Air 11-inch (M2) replacement with the removed assembly before fitting it. Seat the port squarely, restore its gasket/grounds and fasteners, route the flex exactly as recorded, and reconnect without forcing the socket.
Restore the display and test
Restore every cable and shield, following the source’s display reassembly order and adhesive instructions. Confirm charging and data with the plug in both orientations; check Smart Connector accessories and cellular service where fitted.

Follow the full source procedure for the exact variant. No repair restores a guaranteed factory seal, and replacement-part functions depend on the part and any required calibration.
