What is an IMEI?

An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit number that identifies a mobile device. You can find it by dialing *#06# on your phone, checking Settings, or looking on the device's original packaging.

What does the IMEI checksum check?

The checksum (Luhn algorithm) verifies that the 15 digits you entered are a structurally valid IMEI. It catches typos but does not tell you whether the device is locked, blacklisted, or reported stolen — that requires a carrier or blacklist check, which is pending provider connection.

Are IMEI checks live right now?

No. Live carrier and blacklist lookups are pending provider connection. Submitting a check request saves it for our staff to review. We will not run any external lookup, charge you, or share your IMEI with a third party until a provider is connected and you approve.

What is the difference between a carrier check and a blacklist check?

Accepted Answer

A carrier check identifies the original network and lock status of a device. A blacklist check reports whether the IMEI appears on a lost, stolen, or blocked-device database. A clean IMEI is usually required before a carrier will process an unlock.

Is my IMEI safe to share?

Yes. Your IMEI is masked in our interface, stored securely, and visible only to authorized staff. We collect the minimum information needed and do not publish or expose IMEI numbers publicly.

Can an IMEI check remove a security lock?

Accepted Answer

No. An IMEI check only reports device and network status. It does not remove Apple Activation Lock, Google FRP, screen locks, or blacklist entries. We do not offer security-lock removal.
